[Commonplace book] [1868-1877]

Commonplace book of Edith-Althea Echlin, a cousin of George Francis Savage-Armstrong. Born in Co. Down, the daughter of Rev. John Robert Echlin, Edith-Althea married Rev. George Henry Joy in 1869 and spent the majority of her life in England. This volume contains poems copied both before and after her marriage, and includes works by Wordsworth, Marianne Farningham, F.S. Wilson, Caroline Bowles Southey and at least one original poem written by her prospective husband before their marriage.
